Aims and Objectives

The Agricultural Scientific Collections Trust Act provides statutory protection for certain scientific collections held within NSW Department of Primary Industries. The main collections vested in the Trust are the Plant Pathology Herbarium (HERB-DAR) and the Insect and Mite Collections. These are housed in the Agricultural Scientific Collections Unit, Orange Agricultural Institute. Other entomological collections housed in departmental offices and laboratories throughout the State are also covered by the Trust Act.

The Act is administered by NSW DPI on behalf of a six member Trust representing the Department and outside stakeholders.
